I'm teaching a beginning metalsmithing class in September! You will learn how to make a sterling silver bracelet cuff (like the ones pictured) in a 1-hour class. We will be using simple, practical and easy to learn techniques. You will cut, file, shape, patina, polish and then wear!
Calusa Studio is now part of the First Wednesday Art Walk in downtown Salem! The first Wednesday of every month the studio is open from 4-8pm, serving wine and appetizers to the downtown crowd. It's an open invitation to come downtown, enjoy the evening and visit my studio along with many other local businesses that participate in the First Wednesday Art Walk. 
This past weekend I was at Summer in the City 2010, downtown Salem, Oregon. My first official festival. In spite of the incredibly hot weather, nearly 100 degrees in my tent on Saturday, festival goers were fun and supportive - I had a blast. Other local artists were there from Artists in Action, along with great musical talents like Cherry Poppin Daddies and Country Joe McDonald! People were keeping cool with refreshing Sangria plied by Hip Chics Do Wine and margharitas from La Margharita. A few Oregon wineries like Hip Chics, Pheasant Valley, Noble among other were there pouring. Thanks to everyone for the wonderful weekend, it was a great experience and a perfect way to spend my 40th birthday! Also, congratulations to Wendy! She was the winner of the $50 gift certificate from Calusa Studio. If you didn't make it out this year, be sure to put Summer in the City on your calendars for next year - it's a great Salem experience.
Local Salem artisan, Jessica Ramey of Charmed, will be showing her beautiful Tuscany inspired landscapes and a new series of collage art entitled 'Neighborhood' at Calusa Studio's Open House event.
